Why Use Microsoft Access?

There are many other products which can handle databases. FileMaker and Oracle are well-known products. Even Excel can provide simple database functionality. Why use MS-Access?

Well, for starters, Microsoft Access (?) is a relatively low-cost mainstream product and lots of people know it. It can import data from a variety of sources and can export it back out in an equally wide range of formats.

It's a multi-user system. Only one person can modify data at any time if it's in an Excel spreadsheet. In Access you can share the data properly.

Also, Access is relational. That means you can store different data and then relate it together. For instance, clients are related to orders, which are related to products, etc. Excel isn't good for this kind of thing.

And, by programming in VBA (?) or Visual Basic (?), we can really tailor the system to your exact needs.
