Step 1 - Investigation    |
The first step in developing a database system is for us to gather all the details on the requirement. In some cases, the result of these discussions is a decision that a database is not the most appropriate solution. If so, that's OK. We'd rather help you come to this decision before you spend a lot of time and money on the project. As the saying goes - "if it's not broken, don't fix it". We'll probably need to ask you quite a few questions and it usually helps if you can provide us copies of any forms, sample reports, paper documents etc, which you currently use. Anything which helps us to understand what you're trying to achieve is good and will contribute to a successful outcome. As a result of all this investigating, we will be able to produce a "specification" document. |
